I wore this last year on Christmas day.  I didn't take any pictures of it then, though!

 This is three coats of Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers.

 You can see teeny bubbles in the top coat, but honestly it was not noticeable in real life.  I think I used too thick of a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.  I've read that bubbles can occur when too thick of a coat is used.

 Also, I had a heck of a time getting this to dry properly, fully!  I'm wondering if Wicked Fast doesn't agree with Gelous (which I used after the polish and before the WF).  Or maybe it doesn't like Lippmanns?

 It actually all worked out fine in the end, despite my worries and fears.  I'm experimenting more with Wicked Fast after reading so many rave reviews about it.

If I had this one to do over, again, I would have used a coat of Boosh as "underwear," then maybe two coats of Ruby Red Slippers, then my new and improved version of Lynnderella's Glitter Tamer (which is officially AWESOME), and then a careful and thin coat of Wicked Fast.

 Here are a few quick swatches I did back in July?  I think.  I thought you might like something to tide you over through the duration of my time wearing the Sally Hansen ghosties!  (The ghosties did come off tonight, by the way.)

 Above is Nars Vestale, a Nordstrom exclusive from the anniversary sale.  I don't remember how many coats, to be honest.  It was two or three, but I'm leaning toward just two.  :)

 Here is Sephora by OPI My Personal Serpent from this year's Fall collection.  This was either one or two coats because this polish is surprisingly very opaque.

 Here is Lippmann Billionaire.  Two or three coats - I'm not sure.  Sorry!

 And last but not least, Lippmann Stormy Weather.

I wish that I had written down how many coats each of the swatches were.  I regret that!  None of the swatches shown here feature any top coat.

Here are the newly glorious nubs! I wanted them to feel super fabulous, so I picked Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop for them.

I used two coats and it is shown without top coat here.

For being so glitter-packed, it is actually rather well-behaved in application.

The hardest part of application, as you may imagine, is being mindful of the tips, where the larger glitter pieces like to hang halfway off the ends. :)

When that happens, I usually take the end of my small nail file and just gently push them all the way onto the nail.

Candy Shop definitely makes me happy, even if it feels like it's missing some beloved square glitters.

I decided to mattify it! I used a coat of Gelous, a coat of Poshe, and then a coat of Essie Matte About You.

They are quite smooth and even.

The overall effect is somewhat matte yet shiny all at the same time.

I did end up with some shrink at the tips, which you don't see in these "fresh" photos. I think it was probably inevitable, since the base formula of the pink polish is a jelly. I can live with it, though. It's really quite minor.

Well, originally I had planned to get Candy Shop and Forget You (which is my current pedi) when then came out separately. When I saw the Lippmann "Get This Party Started" trio set at Nordstrom last week, I kind of caved. I'm a sucker for those "value of" signs!! Makes me feel like I am saving money somehow. :)

A kind friend at Nordstrom gave me a never-used tester bottle of Lippmann Rehab quite a while ago. The mood struck me to finally try it this past weekend.

I love this color, love the finish, but this polish was a bit of a biotch. Go figure. She didn't care to be photo-ed nicely, either.

I believe I did four coats. It somehow seemed like more, but I doubt that I would have done five!

For this mani, I started with three coats of Sally Hansen XtremeWear Purple Gala.

I added a coat of Lippmann Boom Boom Pow.

I freaking love that name. Boom Boom Pow.

I had some bubbles from my top coat, so excuse me if you see them.

I love both of these polishes and I think they worked really well together.

Boom Boom Pow kind of killed some of the purple in Purple Gala, but it's still cool.

See the Lippmann bottle? It has gold glitter like IN the glass, near the bottom!

I wonder what else I can put Boom Boom Pow over. Maybe a dark navy? Black, of course.

Ooooo...I wonder what it would look like over a silver!

If you see Purple Gala and you don't already have Hard Candy Mr. Wrong (which is a near dupe), then I'd definitely pick it up!

I recently found a cute "mini" bottle of polish at the Lancome counter! It's called Le Gris L'Wren and I started here with two coats.

It was rather thick, but I made it work and it applied pretty well.

It's like a thick, opaque creme with a fine metallic shimmer.

I really like the color of Le Gris L'Wren, but feel it's begging to be covered in glitter!

I covered it with one coat of Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale.

The two are pretty much meant for each other!

The Lippmann supposedly has micro diamond dust in it or something. All I know is it's really pretty!

The glitters all dispersed themselves very even across the nail.

My Birthday was actually a month ago. That's how far behind I am in posting pictures I've taken versus what I'm wearing on any given day. At any rate, I snapped this picture of my Birthday manicure while enjoying a day at SeaWorld with my bestest bud. It was mega hot out. I did mass quantities of sweating that day!

I used two coats of LA Girl Metal Obsidian and one coat of Lippmann Happy Birthday. I really like how it turned out and it was fun to wear for a few days.

What a crazy, long, hard week! I'm glad it's over. I've been wanting to post for a long time, so I'm happy to finally be doing it. :)

This was two coats of Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier with one coat of Sally Hansen HD DVD.

I love the purple to blue shift on DVD!

Here is Nfu-Oh 569. I did three coats. It was slightly annoying in application, but completely worth it and non-problematic in the end (if that makes any sense)!

Yummy, awesome almost black, luscious green jelly!

And here is Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues. I did two sort of thick coats.

I put it over Essence Pool Party (one coat, I think), which was completely unnecessary!! I had no idea it would be so opaque on its own.

I think the pictures really turned out terrific. It reminds me of blue jeans, but in a sexy, edgy, chunky-glitter-interpretation kind of way!

Kind of like blue jeans and asphalt?! Yeah. Love it.

I also did two thick-ish coats of this one.

It didn't wear too well on me and was chippy by the end of the first day. I freaking loved it so much that I applied it again, as a repeat, and wore for another day or so after, in a row!

Across the Universe is the first ever color I've loved so much that I wore twice straight in a row. I also completely forgive it for not wearing well, because it's so freaking gorgeous and makes me really happy when I have it on. Next time I wear it I think I will try it over something similar. Maybe it will hold on better that way!
