Red Hot Kitties

Here is one of the spoils of the recent BOGO sale on Butter London polishes at Ulta from last week.
It's two coats of Knees Up.  This polish applied perfectly and attracted plenty of attention!
I always feel just a bit self-conscious wearing reds, so I wanted to add decals just to be different and for fun.  I have these Kitty decals from pa brand that someone sent me as an extra with a polish order.
It's kitties, hearts, houses, and then one random little creature that looks like a mouse maybe?  He is so cute and special - I didn't use him yet.
I did three accent nails.  Sometimes I just feel asymetrical...yeah.
Black kitty and black heart on the right hand ring finger.
The decals are pretty thick, so I used two coats of top coat over them to make sure they were secure.
My right hand thumb had the white kitty, which I really like!
My left hand thumb was jealous because I left it decal-less.
This was a fun mani and it definitely made me feel better about wearing red.

Wallis Crackified

A couple of days ago I broke my right thumb nail. I panicked. So, naturally, Crackle was involved.

I trimmed and filed down the offending, broken thumb nail, then put China Glaze Tarnished Gold Crackle over everything. Somehow it eased the pain (not physical pain, thankfully)!

The base polish is Butter London Wallis.

I really like how this turned out and I have to say that I LOVE Tarnished Gold Crackle. It's so super pretty, especially in the bright sun. It has silver shimmer mixed in with the gold, which makes it both special and gorgeous.

Wallis and WOW!

Can I first just say how much I heart you all?! I can't believe that there are over 500 followers on DizzyNails. This completely blows my mind and is humbling and exciting all at the same time. Thank you thank you!! We've come a long way, baby!

So, I finally did change my mani. This is Butter London Wallis, shown at three coats. I probably could have gotten away with two.

Wallis is a Nordstrom exclusive color available now.

It's a beautiful blackened olive shimmer with striking gold accents.

I do not think this flatters my skin tone in any way, shape, or form, yet I could not care less. I'm very pleased with Wallis. It makes me think of antique brass or something.

Those crazy caps are so huge and reflective. See my entire patio, pool, and the lake out back in the picture above?

This last picture was taken indoors, just to show any differences with color in the artificial lighting.

Sarah, if you are reading, here are some quick tips on how to wrap your tips when you have very short nubs! I apologize in advance because I do not have any demonstrative pictures for you. What I recommend it to carefully wrap your tips in at least the last coat of color as well as the top coat. You may not want to do all the layers (base and all the coats of polish) as it's hard to get much of anything on the ends when your nails are really short. Also, you are going to make at least a bit of mess - this is a given. Keep something handy for quick clean up. I like to use the Sephora nail polish corrector felt-tipped pen or just now I am getting into using a brush and acetone clean-up method with the ELF concealer brush. That way, when you splotch the polish onto your skin you can just tidy it up right away. Another tip that may help is to just be purposeful in how much polish you have on the brush when you go to wrap the tip. Try doing it with just what is left over from after you painted the main part of your nail. Then, hopefully there won't be so much on there that you are prone to getting as much on your skin.

Let me know if this is helpful at all. I will make a point to try and do a more thorough tutorial with pictures the next time I'm rocking short nubs. :)

Plush, Luscious Purple plus Bling!

Hiya!  I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend.  I'm getting over some icky cold thing, so Sunday was pretty yuck-o but today I'm finally feeling a little better.  Hopefully it's all downhill from here!  I'm noticing that whenever I'm sick with a bad cold I have almost zero motivation to change my polish and I also have the hardest time deciding on colors.

My numero uno bud, who we shall call Kup, selected the following manicure colors.  Two coats of smooooooth as buttah Butter London HRH (which apparently stands for "Her Royal Highness").  Can you believe how pretty it is?!

I had a little shrink back from Poshe.  Boo!  I think I need to thin it a bit.  Hopefully that will help.  If I've said this before then welcome to the world that we shall call Dizzy haz brain damage!  Ha.  I joke about myself because my memory is just awful.

Kup wanted me to put "a new China Glaze glitter" on it, so I selected Cleopatra.  I put one coat on top, ONE!  It's so crazy thick and packed full of glittahs.

I think I maybe could have made it a wee bit thinner...or added some polish thinner.  Either way, it's the bomb, even though I probably would have preferred to see a bit more HRH.

I'm not sure you can really see and appreciate it fully, but Cleopatra has some greenish glitter in it.  Cool!

This is my second ever Butter London mani and I gotta say I have nothing but love for Butter London as of yet.  It applied beautifully.  I had no problems with the wacky old cap (they are using a new system now).  And you can see how poifect it looks!  And how much do we love China Glaze for coming out with a ton of amazing new colors and glitters!?  I can't wait to see all of them (and get my grubby hands on 'em, too!).
